He entered the house stealthily. The owner was unaware and continued sleeping. The thief started to ransack the house. He rummaged through cupboards for expensive items. He found much valuable jewelry. The thief put them into a bag. After that, he got ready to leave. He tried to escape through the kitchen window. However, the thief knocked a table accidentally. The cups fell off and shattered. There was a loud sharp noise. Startled, the owner woke up immediately. He felt that something was amiss. He decided to go down and check. The thief was flustered. He dashed out through the main door. The owner was stunned. He had slept through the entire incident. He could not believe it. How could he not hear the noise?
